Amy has been involved in all our ventures since 2017. She dances in the work, delivers community classes and commissions for the company, takes beautiful photos and develops our social media content. Amy is exceptionally useful as long as she has eaten a Cadbury’s twirl at lunchtime.

Amy began her professional dance career as Lîla Dance’s intern, a position which she held for 2 years before ‘graduating’ and further developing her relationship with the company. Amy dances for us in The Hotel Experience and is rehearsal director for My Bit She contributes to the development of our work and company and helps us to make things happen.

“In the creation space we work collaboratively in a fun and exciting environment. We delve into the true essence of movement and every dancer is able to really be themselves in their work.”

— Amy Morvell

In 2017, with our support, Amy set up her company Morvell Dance and became an Associate Artist of The Point, Eastleigh in 19/20. Produced by Lîla Dance, Amy successfully receive Arts Council funding to create her new work Turtle Dove. The work has since toured to theatre venues across the south of England and internationally to Abundance International Dance Festival -Sweden.

Amy’s work is often inspired by the stories of others and how these stories shape their experiences of living, loving and ageing. Alongside dancing in her own work, Amy also dances professionally for companies;   Ella&co  (Ella Fleetwood) in #NoFilter, Wessex Company in PRANA (Laila Delalio & Hannah Martin-Reilly) & Katie Dale Everett Dance’s Empa.
