Youth dance classes

These classes are creative and fun, aimed at getting young people dancing in high-energy shared experiences.

Classes starts with game-like warm up exercises so that everyone can relax and have fun whilst they ease into dancing. Lîla will lead the group through a series of creative movement sequences that are designed to get the body and imagination fired up.

Emphasis is placed on connecting with the imagery and dynamics underpinning the movement, encouraging confidence in personal interpretation and exploration. These classes are for all young people to get involved and simple enjoy moving, regardless of their dance experience.

Over 50’s classes

Whether this is your first time in a contemporary dance class, or you are an experienced mover, these classes offer a dance experience where you can take part at your own pace, enjoy expressing yourself through movement and keep fit and flexible.

We create a positive and supportive atmosphere where you can share the experience of dancing with others while socialising. Classes provide a balance of creative exercises and learnt sequences that are designed to activate your body and your mind and encourage confidence.

Classes are accessible, open to everyone and movement can be modified to support individual requirements. Personal interpretation is positively encouraged!

We have been leaders in casting local community members in our professional touring work since 2012.

Co-creation workshops – taking part in the making stages

Community cast - joining us onstage as performers

Co-creation workshops

We think that we make better work when we listen to the ideas and perspectives of the communities we work with. We open up our creative processes to welcome people of all ages and walks of life to get involved with our work as we make it! Here your creativity, perspective, and energy, informs the work we make.

What does this involve? You join us in the studio to share in our creative dance explorations, share ideas, and meet our creative team in a fun, welcoming creative environment. Co-creation workshops are normally 4 hours, and you can attend as many as you like.

Co-creation workshops are advertised on all of our social media channels and via our newsletter.

Community cast

The community cast is open to everyone regardless of dance experience or age. The sections we teach are flexible and can be tailored to suit the needs of any group. We can include those with no experience of dance through to dance students and training professionals.

What does this involve? You would perform on stage alongside our professional cast, in front of a paying audience.

How does it work? You come and join cast workshops where you will learn everything you need to know from our professional dancers to be able to perform in our work. This usually takes two days of your time for the rehearsals and then of course you need join us for the performance!

Community Cast workshops are usually organised and advertised in collaboration with the performance venue. Recruitment can be via open call out, or might be limited to a community group, school, college or university that venues want to build a relationship with.

Please note that due to Covid-19, opportunities may be curtailed or cancelled inline with government regulations and the company’s risk assessment.

We’re not currently casting for new productions. Sign up to our mailing list to be the first to hear of community casting opportunities.

Outreach workshops

These workshops are designed with your group in mind!

We know that not every dance group fits into a specific box - and we embrace this in our outreach workshops. We work with you to develop an understanding of your group so that we can conjure up a dance experience that leaves everyone feeling confident and energised with the right level of physical and creative challenge.

Classes can focus on taught sequences, provide lots of space for creative explorations - or a good balance of both of these!

So if you are a university dance tutor looking for an injection of energy for your choreography students, a community organiser bringing together an intergenerational dance event or anything in between - drop us a email and let’s get chatting!

“Wow I had a great time - Amy and Joe hit the perfect note between teaching and encouraging, supporting us to have a good time too. I think they got the goods from us with kindness as well as technique.”
