Lîla Dance is Pavilion Dance’s Associate Artist for 2023-24. Join us for a day in the studio for a fun exploration of climate change through dance. No experience necessary, just an openness to work creatively with others. It’s FREE to participate and you’re helping us to make our new show!

What is Fault Lines?

Fault Lines is Lila Dance’s new touring show that explores climate crisis using dance, theatre, music, and digital projection to form an imaginative response to themes of destruction and chaos, rewilding, and regeneration.

What is a community cast?

The show includes a community cast section that integrates local people into the performance, sharing the stage with the professional cast as we explore a topic important to us all.

What will happen in the November workshop?

In this workshop you'll get the chance to help make this community cast section of the piece. We will be building images and movement sequences that reflect rewilding and rebuilding. This section of the work will be performed by communities across the UK so your input will have a legacy beyond the workshop. You will be able to perform it yourself should Fault Lines be presented in the Ocean Theatre at Pavilion Dance in the future.

Interested? Here's what you need to know:

·      This project is for anyone aged 13+

·      You'll work with members of Lila Dance to learn set movement sequences and with other members of the group to create your own dance sequences
