Joe Darby
Joe’s relationship with Lîla started in 2005, when he took part as a youth dancer in a boy’s project led by Lîla. Since then he has danced for the company in much of their repertoire; Tracker 2009, The Incredible Presence of a remarkable Absence 2012, The Deluge 2016, The Hotel Experience 2018.
After graduating from The University of Chichester with a first class Ba honours degree in 2008, Joe completed his masters year at Trinity Laban, joining Transitions.
During his time dancing Joe has worked with companies including The Ballet Boyz, Russell Malliphant, Lea Anderson andJoss Arnott. He is currently dancing for Morvell Dance touring Turtle Dove 2018.
Joe has delivered classes and workshops to his local community through his relationship with Kent based community dance company Instep Dance Company, where he teaches people of all ages and levels of experience. He has a special interest in working with older people, nurturing confidence and creativity, and in deliver boy’s dance classes to inspire them to get involved in dance.
Joe is also a DJ and brings his love of music into the studio!
